| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3096, AS AMENDED, by | ||||||
| 3 | replacing everything after the enacting clause with the | ||||||
| 4 | following:
| ||||||
| 5 | "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section | ||||||
| 6 | 9-1.5 as follows: | ||||||
| 7 | (105 ILCS 5/9-1.5 new) | ||||||
| 8 | Sec. 9-1.5. Advisory referenda. By a vote of the majority | ||||||
| 9 | of the members of the school board, the board may authorize an | ||||||
| 10 | advisory question of public policy to be placed on the ballot | ||||||
| 11 | at the next regularly scheduled election in the school | ||||||
| 12 | district. The school board shall certify the question to the | ||||||
| 13 | proper election authority, which must submit the question at an | ||||||
| 14 | election in accordance with the Election Code, provided, | ||||||
| 15 | however, that no such question may be submitted at a | ||||||
| 16 | consolidated primary election.".
