| 2 | WHEREAS, State Farm Insurance Companies was founded in 1922 | ||||||
| 3 | by George J. Mecherle, a farmer from Merna; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, State Farm's mission is to help people manage the | ||||||
| 5 | risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and | ||||||
| 6 | realize their dreams; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, State Farm has grown over the past 90 years from a | ||||||
| 8 | small farm mutual auto insurer to the leading United States | ||||||
| 9 | home insurer and one of the world's largest financial | ||||||
| 10 | institutions; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, State Farm employs 68,000 associates, including | ||||||
| 12 | more than 16,500 in Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, About 17,000 State Farm agents are spread across | ||||||
| 14 | North America, including over 1,000 in Illinois, who provide | ||||||
| 15 | products and services to thousands of families and businesses; | ||||||
| 16 | and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, State Farm is a model corporate citizen, | ||||||
| 18 | demonstrating a proven commitment to helping to build safe, | ||||||
| 19 | strong, and educated communities, not only in Illinois, but | ||||||
| 20 | throughout the nation; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, State Farm's Good Neighbor Citizenship shows | ||||||
| 2 | through the company's support and encouragement of associate | ||||||
| 3 | and agent volunteerism, numerous initiatives to promote safe | ||||||
| 4 | and strong communities and a working collaboration to | ||||||
| 5 | strengthen and support public education; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, State Farm's 90-year-old success is built on a | ||||||
| 7 | foundation of shared values - quality service and | ||||||
| 8 | relationships, mutual trust, integrity, and financial | ||||||
| 9 | strength; therefore, be it

| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 11 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
| 12 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we congratulate State Farm | ||||||
| 13 | Insurance, its leadership, its agents, and its employees as | ||||||
| 14 | they celebrate 90 years of being a good neighbor in Illinois | ||||||
| 15 | and wish them continued success in the future; and be it | ||||||
| 16 | further

| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
