2 | | WHEREAS, Frank Arnold Bonora was born May 3, 1923, in |
3 | | Yatesboro, Pennsylvania; he later moved to Chicago to seek |
4 | | employment; and

5 | | WHEREAS, In 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army Air |
6 | | Corps, serving in World War II; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, He served in Italy, Germany, and France in the |
8 | | 328th Fighter Group, directing aircraft in bombing and strafing |
9 | | missions; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, He was wounded by shrapnel at the Battle of Monte |
11 | | Cassino in Italy; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, He later returned to Chicago and served as a |
13 | | community organizer in the Albany Park neighborhood, where he |
14 | | was recognized by Chicago Mayors Richard J. Daley, Jane Byrne, |
15 | | Harold Washington, and Richard M. Daley for his outstanding |
16 | | community service; and

17 | | WHEREAS, He is the oldest elected official in Lake County; |

19 | | WHEREAS, He has been married to Marjorie for 48 years; he |
