HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Stephen
4Paul Drake of Champaign, who passed away on May 3, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stephen Drake was born on November 6, 1951, in
6Urbana; his parents are Richard K. Drake and Marylou Gillis;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Stephen Drake graduated from Farmer City High
9School and earned his bachelor's degree at Illinois State
10University; he subsequently earned his graduate degree in
11banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison; he was
12also a Certified Financial Planner; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Stephen Drake served his country with pride and
14distinction as a member of the United States Army during the
15Vietnam War; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Stephen Drake was an Executive Vice President and
17a Community Leader at the Heartland Bank and Trust Company and
18a Director at the Heartland Bank and Trust Company in
19Champaign-Urbana; he was also a Director for both the State
20Bank of Lincoln and the Farmer City State Bank; and

1    WHEREAS, Stephen Drake was a longtime member of the Masonic
2Lodge and the Champaign-Urbana Chamber of Commerce; he was also
3a Pillar Member of the United Way and a supporter of the March
4of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, and the University of
5Illinois; he was also an organ donor; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Stephen Drake enjoyed fishing, boating, and
7spending time with his friends and family; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Stephen Drake is survived by his wife of 33 years,
9Patricia Reilly Drake; his sister, Stephanie Drake; his
10brothers, Stuart (Diana) Drake and Stanley (Colleen) Drake;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
15Stephen Paul Drake; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Stephen Drake as an expression of
18our sympathy.
