HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to welcome United States Air Force
4Senior Airman Andrew Turner back to the United States and thank
5him for his service to our nation; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Senior Airman Turner is the son of Trustee Robert
7L. Turner and Gladys Turner of Calumet Park; he was born in
8Calumet Park, played T-Ball and Little League baseball in
9Calumet Park, attended Burr Oak School, and graduated from
10Calumet School; he played on the basketball team and graduated
11from Eisenhower High School with the class of 2002; he
12subsequently attended Southwestern Christian College in
13Terrell, Texas; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Senior Airman Turner was employed at the Calumet
15Park Recreation Center under the leadership of Trustee and
16Recreation Director Frank Snow for five years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Senior Airman Turner serves as a military
18policeman with the 72nd Security Force Squadron of the United
19States Air Force; in January of 2007, he entered the Air Force
20and graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in
21San Antonio, Texas, where he also completed the Security Forces
22Apprentice Training Course; he was later stationed at Tinker

1Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and received
2additional training from the 99th Ground Combat Training
3Squadron Expeditionary Readiness Training at Creech Air Force
4Base in Nevada; and
 
5    WHEREAS, In 2009, Senior Airman Turner was deployed to
6Aldopha Air Force Base in Iraq, where he served until his tour
7was complete; after additional training, he was deployed in
8October of 2010 to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, where he
9served until sustaining an injury; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Senior Airman Turner is married to Staff Sergeant
11Tracy Gilmore Turner, who works in the medical field in the Air
12Force; he and his wife are both stationed at Tinker Air Force
13Base; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Senior Airman Turner serves as a model of hard
15work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
16Illinois; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19we welcome United States Air Force Senior Airman Andrew Turner
20back to the United States and thank him for his service to our
21nation; and be it further
