HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The Members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to recognize significant
4accomplishments and milestones celebrated by citizens of this
5State; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jim Hayner, Village Administrator of the Village
7of Gurnee, will retire from the Village after 34 years of hard
8work and selfless and dedicated service to the Village of
9Gurnee; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jim Hayner has worked with the Village of Gurnee
11since 1977 and has served in numerous positions within the
12Village including Administrative Assistant, Assistant
13Administrator, and Director of Building and Zoning; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jim Hayner, during his tenure as Administrator,
15oversaw tremendous growth in the Village with commercial
16developments such as Gurnee Mills, Tri State Business Park, the
17Grand/Hunt Development, and KeyLime Cove Resort, all being
18approved and constructed; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jim Hayner, during his tenure as Administrator,
20oversaw Village operations being expanded to meet the needs of
21the Village, including the financing and construction of

1Gurnee's new Village Hall, Fire Station #2, the Public Works
2facility, and the Police Station; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jim Hayner was involved with the creation of, and
4has served as, chairman of the Central Lake County Joint Action
5Water Agency, served as an executive member of the Solid Waste
6Agency of Lake County, was Lake County's representative on the
7Lake County Municipal League's Board of Directors, and was
8chairman of the Lake County Managers Group; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jim Hayner was also involved in the greater Gurnee
10community, with organizations such as the Gurnee Breakfast
11Exchange Club, the Warren Township High School Foundation
12Board, the Warren Township High School Hall of Fame Committee,
13and in various coaching capacities; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jim Hayner is a lifelong resident of the Village
15of Gurnee and has spent decades improving the lives of those
16around him, as well as overseeing the evolution of his hometown
17Village of Gurnee; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we congratulate Jim Hayner on his retirement and wish him well
21in his future endeavors; and be it further
