HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Darrell Tureskis
4of Springfield on the occasion of breaking the world record for
5Salvation Army bell-ringing; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Darrell Tureskis was one of 24 competitors
7throughout the United States to attempt to break the Salvation
8Army's non-stop bell-ringing record to raise money for the
9organization's efforts; despite his hunger and exhaustion, Mr.
10Tureskis managed to ring his bell for 60 straight hours,
11shattering the organization's previous record of 36 hours; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Darrell Tureskis collected the impressive sum of
13$900 in his Salvation Army kettle on his first day and more
14than $2,500 on his second day; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Prior to his world-record run, Darrell Tureskis
16had never rang a bell for the Salvation Army; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Darrell Tureskis serves as a model of hard work,
18integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
19Illinois; therefore, be it

1NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2we congratulate Darrell Tureskis on the occasion of breaking
3the world record for Salvation Army bell-ringing and wish him
4continued success and happiness in the future; and be it

6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
