HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Illinois State
4Police Inspector Kevin Eack on his retirement; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He graduated from the Southern Illinois
6University School of Law in 1983 and was admitted to the Bar by
7the Illinois Supreme Court; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was sworn in as a Special Agent of the FBI in
9September, 1983 and worked as a special agent along the El
10Paso, Texas/Mexico border, handling interstate smuggling and
11kidnapping cases from 1983 to 1985; during his time there, he
12received a commendation from FBI Director William H. Webster
13for the arrest of a corrupt Texas Sheriff and 2 deputies; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He later returned to Illinois, serving as a State
15prosecutor for approximately 4 years; he served as an Illinois
16State Police officer and senior commander for 23 years serving
17as Assistant Deputy Director of the Division of Internal
18Investigations (LTC), Commander of the MSI Public Corruption
19Task Force, and after September 11, 2001, serving as the Senior
20Terrorism Advisor to the Director overseeing State counter
21terrorism efforts through 2009; and

1    WHEREAS, He was selected by the FBI to serve as a
2Director's Fellow at the National Counter Terrorism Center in
32009, receiving awards and commendations from U.S. Attorney
4General Janet Reno, FBI Director Louis Freeh, and from 3 State
5Police Directors for distinguished leadership in law
6enforcement; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He was selected to attend and later graduated from
8the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Homeland
9Defense and Security in 2007, and was elected alumni president;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we congratulate Illinois State Police Inspector Kevin Eack on
14his retirement and wish him all the best in his future
15endeavors; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to Illinois State Police Inspector Kevin Eack as a
18symbol of our respect and esteem.
