HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The State of Illinois is home to a multitude of
3charitable groups that perform daily acts of generosity; and
 
4    WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives has learned
5of the works of Central Illinois based LifeLine Pilots and the
6occasion of their 30th anniversary; and
 
7    WHEREAS, It is important to take notice and recognize the
8decades of volunteer flights for families in need of
9transportation to life saving medical treatments and the
10ferrying of supplies to scenes of natural disaster in locales
11like Joplin, New Orleans, and Haiti; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The efforts of LifeLine Pilots grew from a handful
13of aviators to a corp of more than 900 pilots, with 550 active
14today; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Volunteers have flown more than 7,000 missions to
1641 states, logged over 1.7 million miles, a distance equal to
17more than 3 round trips to the moon; and
 
18    WHEREAS, All of the journeys have been provided at no
19charge, giving thousands of families needed relief from
20financial hardship; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3we declare April 21, 2012 as LifeLine Pilots Appreciation Day
4in the State of Illinois; we salute the hard works of the
5LifeLine Pilot volunteers; and we offer our thanks and
6appreciation for making Illinois a better place to live through
7their efforts; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to LifeLine Pilots as a symbol of our respect and
10esteem.
