2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are deeply saddened to learn of the death of | ||||||
4 | Lombard Village President William "Bill" J. Mueller, who died | ||||||
5 | on August 18, 2012; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Bill Mueller was raised in Lombard by his parents, | ||||||
7 | Joseph and Dolorosa (nee Muldoon); he married Eileen Rogers; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bill Mueller served as village president since | ||||||
10 | 1993, having begun his fifth consecutive term in May of 2009; | ||||||
11 | he was the longest serving village president in Lombard's | ||||||
12 | history; he was a veteran of the Illinois National Guard; and | ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Bill Mueller began his political career in the | ||||||
14 | late 1950's as a member of the Village of Lombard's Safety | ||||||
15 | Committee and the Lombard Youth Commission; he was District | ||||||
16 | Trustee from 1975 to 1979 and served as Chairman of the Public | ||||||
17 | Works Committee as well as Chairman of the DuPage Community | ||||||
18 | Development Commission; he was president of the DuPage Mayors | ||||||
19 | and Managers Conference and Co-Chairman of the Glenbard | ||||||
20 | Wastewater Authority; he was a member of the Lombard Chamber of | ||||||
21 | Commerce and Industry Eagle Club; he served on the boards and | ||||||
22 | committees of many local groups, such as the YMCA, St. Pius X |

1 | School and Church, Cub Scouts and was the president of the | ||||||
2 | Lombard Chamber of Commerce; he was a former Lombard Man of the | ||||||
3 | Year; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Bill Mueller opened the Bill Mueller Insurance | ||||||
5 | Agency in 1965; he retired from American Family Insurance in | ||||||
6 | 2005; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Bill Mueller was preceded in death by his nephew, | ||||||
8 | Joe Harrington; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bill Mueller is survived by his wife, Eileen (nee | ||||||
10 | Rogers); his daughters, Debbie (Keith) Rapata, and Donna (Mark) | ||||||
11 | Fruehe; his grandchildren, K.J., Stephen, Mikey, and Ashley; | ||||||
12 | his brother, Thomas M. (Jane); his nieces and nephews, Mike | ||||||
13 | (Jenny) Mueller, Jim Mueller, Chris Williams, Cheryl (Jim) | ||||||
14 | Maynard, Don Wesolowicz, Sandy Wesolowicz, Mike, Mary, Kelly, | ||||||
15 | and Ann Harrington; his sister-in-laws, Carol (Don) | ||||||
16 | Wesolowicz, Lucille Rogers, and Mary Harrington; his | ||||||
17 | brother-in-law, Francis (Rose) Rogers; his special cousin, Ann | ||||||
18 | Ahern; and many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
20 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
21 | we mourn the passing of Bill Mueller, and we extend our sincere | ||||||
22 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |

2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
