HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Margaret "Peggy" Frank on
4the occasion of her retirement as the executive director of
5Naper Settlement after 33 years; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank helped the 19th-century
7living-history museum make great strides in restoring
8buildings and making the settlement grounds a welcoming place
9for visitors; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank helped oversee construction of the
11Pre-Emption House Visitor Center and the renovation of the
12Martin Mitchell Mansion; her proudest moments came in 2002 when
13the settlement received accreditation from the American
14Association of Museums; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank is a Chicago native; she worked for
16the Historical Society of Delaware before coming to Naperville
17in 1979 as the settlement's first paid curator; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank's leadership helped the museum grow
19from a grass-roots local effort to a professional organization;
20therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3we wish to congratulate Peggy Frank on her retirement from the
4Naper Settlement; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to Peggy Frank as an expression of our esteem and
7respect.
