    Amends the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the definition of "residence".

1    AN ACT concerning aging.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons
5Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act is
6amended by changing Section 3.12 as follows:
 
7    (320 ILCS 25/3.12)  (from Ch. 67 1/2, par. 403.12)
8    Sec. 3.12. Residence. "Residence" means the the principal
9dwelling place occupied in this State by a household and so
10much of the surrounding land as is reasonably necessary for use
11of the dwelling as a home, and includes rental property, mobile
12homes, single family dwellings, and units in multifamily,
13multidwelling or multipurpose buildings. If the assessor has
14established a specific legal description for a portion of
15property constituting the residence, then that portion of
16property shall be deemed "residence" for the purposes of this
17Act. "Residence" also includes that portion of a nursing or
18sheltered care home occupied as a dwelling by a claimant,
19determined as prescribed in regulations of the Department on
20Aging.
