SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
105 ILCS 5/14-8.02d

    Amends the Children with Disabilities Article of the School Code. Provides that the due process hearing data provided by the State Board of Education for the Annual State Report on Special Education Performance must be submitted to the School Bullying Prevention Task Force. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section
514-8.02d as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/14-8.02d)
7    Sec. 14-8.02d. Evaluation of due process hearing system.
8The State Board of Education shall monitor, review, and
9evaluate the impartial due process hearing system on a regular
10basis by a process that includes a review of written decisions
11and evaluations by participants in impartial due process
12hearings and their representatives. In conjunction with the
13Annual State Report on Special Education Performance, the State
14Board of Education shall submit data on the performance of the
15due process hearing system, including data on timeliness of
16hearings and an analysis of the issues and disability
17categories underlying hearing requests during the period
18covered by the Annual State Report. The data provided for the
19Annual State Report must be submitted to the members of the
20State Board of Education, the State Superintendent of
21Education, the Advisory Council on Education of Children with
22Disabilities, the School Bullying Prevention Task Force
23created under Section 27-23.9 of this Code, and the Screening
