    Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning display of a false insurance card.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing
5Section 3-710 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/3-710)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-710)
7    Sec. 3-710. Display of false insurance card. No person
8shall display evidence of insurance to a law enforcement
9officer, court, or officer of the the court, knowing there is
10no valid liability insurance in effect on the motor vehicle as
11required under Section 7-601 of this Code or knowing the
12evidence of insurance is illegally altered, counterfeit, or
13otherwise invalid as evidence of insurance required under
14Section 7-602 of this Code. If the law enforcement officer
15issues a citation to a motor vehicle operator for displaying
16invalid evidence of insurance, the officer shall confiscate the
17evidence for presentation in court.
18    Any person convicted of violating this Section is guilty of
19a Class A misdemeanor.
