| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3341

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3341 on page 2 by | ||||||
| 3 | inserting immediately below line 17 the following: | ||||||
| 4 | "(c) A person who is in the business of purchasing precious | ||||||
| 5 | metal shall provide a copy of the information required to be | ||||||
| 6 | obtained under subdivision (a)(1)(B) of this Section to the | ||||||
| 7 | parties as specified in this subsection. The copy shall be | ||||||
| 8 | delivered before the hour of 12 o'clock noon the day after any | ||||||
| 9 | day the person conducts business and shall contain the | ||||||
| 10 | information acquired by the person the immediately preceding | ||||||
| 11 | day the person conducted business. A person who is in the | ||||||
| 12 | business of purchasing precious metal in a county with fewer | ||||||
| 13 | than 3,000,000 inhabitants shall submit the copy to the sheriff | ||||||
| 14 | of that county. In municipalities having a population of 25,000 | ||||||
| 15 | or more inhabitants that are located in counties with fewer | ||||||
| 16 | than 3,000,000 inhabitants, a copy shall also be submitted to | ||||||
| 17 | municipal police department. In municipalities located in | ||||||

| 1 | counties with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants, the report shall | ||||||
| 2 | be submitted to the municipal police department. In counties | ||||||
| 3 | with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants, a person in the business of | ||||||
| 4 | purchasing precious metal whose business is located in an | ||||||
| 5 | unincorporated area of the county shall submit the copy to the | ||||||
| 6 | sheriff. The copy may be made by computer print out or input | ||||||
| 7 | memory device if the format has been approved by the entity | ||||||
| 8 | receiving the copy."; and | ||||||
| 9 | on page 3, line 3, by changing "General" to "General, local | ||||||
| 10 | police department, and sheriff"; and | ||||||
| 11 | on page 3 by inserting immediately below line 6 the following: | ||||||
| 12 | "Section 25. Exemption. This Act does not apply to persons | ||||||
| 13 | licensed under the Pawnbroker Regulation Act.".
