SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Henry Joseph Kilian, who passed away on
4March 8, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Henry Kilian was born on March 10, 1932, in
6Chicago; his parents were Teofil and Victoria Kilian; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Henry Kilian attended Catholic grammar schools
8and graduated from Weber High School, where he was also known
9in his day as "Hook Shot Hank" for his basketball skills; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After completing high school, Henry Kilian
11attended trade school and helped his father grow their cement
12construction business, which remained family-owned until the
13time of his death; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Henry Kilian served his country with pride and
15distinction as a member of the United States Army for four
16years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Henry Kilian was a very devout Catholic and
18enjoyed being an altar server, performing that duty until he
19was 18 years old; and

1    WHEREAS, From a very early age, Henry Kilian loved animals
2and had many different kinds of pets throughout his life; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Henry Kilian and his loving wife, Juanita, had
4three wonderful children; he was also blessed with seven
5grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8his family and friends, the passing of Henry Joseph Kilian; and
9be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Henry Kilian as an expression of our
12sympathy.
