SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Fred J. Haddad, Sr. of Hopedale, who
4passed away on May 20, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. was born on April 18, 1915, in
6Peoria; his parents were Joseph and Mary Sleyman Haddad; he
7married Mary E. Ringness on October 4, 1936, in Peoria; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. attended Bradley University
9before following in his father's footsteps in the grocery
10business; he was the founder of Haddad's Market on Wisconsin
11Avenue in the East Bluff and Rohmann Avenue in West Peoria,
12where he built a family grocery store tradition and became a
13pillar in the community; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. was a past member of the Willow
15Knolls Country Club and the Creve Coeur Club; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. was preceded in death by his
17parents; his wife, Mary; and his son, Robert (Sue); and
 
18    WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. is survived by his children, Fred
19Jr. (Sandra) Haddad, Steve Haddad, Carol (Robert) Gardula, and
20Patricia (Joshua) Geske; his eight grandchildren; his 10

1great-grandchildren; and his sister, Frieda Abdnour;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5his family and friends, the passing of Fred J. Haddad, Sr.; and
6be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Fred J. Haddad, Sr. as an expression
9of our sympathy.
