SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mildred Marie (Volz) Janovetz of Peoria,
4who passed away on July 26, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on November 9, 1913, the only
6daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Schweinbold) Bolz; she
7attended St. Boniface School and graduated as valedictorian of
8her class at the Academy of Our Lady in 1931, when she was
9awarded a full college scholarship but was unable to accept
10because of the Depression; and
 
11    WHEREAS, She worked in the public sector until her marriage
12on October 7, 1937, to Eugene Henry Janovetz at St. Boniface
13Church; she was a lifelong devoted Catholic and a member of
14Sacred Heart and St. Vincent de Paul parishes in Peoria; she
15belonged to numerous religious and community organizations;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Along with being a devoted wife and mother, she
18had many talents, including making quilts, needlepoint,
19embroidery, knitting, and crocheting items; she was a wonderful
20cook and her recipes continue in a family cookbook; and
 
21    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her

1parents; and 2 brothers, Bernard and Harold; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mildred Janovetz is survived by her children, Judy
3Davis Morgan (Theodore Welles), Jerry, Jane Menk (Duane,
4deceased), Joan Janovetz, and Jim (Cindy) Janovetz; her
5grandchildren, Eric (Janine) Davis, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jacob,
6Joseph (Katie), Jill and Jared Janovetz, Holly (Jeff) Ott,
7Jeremy (Sarah) Heer, and Jason (Alycia) Heer; her
8great-grandchildren, Max and Michal Davis, Breanna Kellogg,
9Mary Elizabeth, Jay and Christopher Heer, and Louis Janovetz;
10along with many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13her family and friends, the passing of Mildred Janovetz; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Mildred Janovetz as a symbol of our
17sincere sympathy.
