SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the passing of Dorothy Honke Mundell, who passed away
4on August 25, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born September 26, 1924, in Alton to Harry
6and Lillian (Ibsen) Russell; she married Oliver Honke on
7January 25, 1946, in Wood River, together, they owned and
8operated Honke Pharmacy; he preceded her in death; she later
9married Earl Mundell in January of 1986 and he preceded her in
10death in 2010; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dorothy earned her nursing degree from Alton
12Memorial Hospital in 1944; she loved and enjoyed her family,
13golfing, reading, and volunteering; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dorothy Mundell was preceded in death by her
15husbands; her parents; her son, Dennis Honke; her brothers,
16Gene Russell and Richard Russell; and her stepdaughter, Ellen
17Emde; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dorothy Mundell is survived by her son, Thomas
19Honke and daughter-in-law, Jerre; her daughter-in-law, Joni;
20her stepdaughter, Jane Harris and her husband, Nelson; her
21stepson, Harold Emde; her grandchildren, Betsy Honke, Alex

1Honke, Robert Honke and his wife, Maleana, Ryan Honke, and
2Scott Honke and his wife, Jackie; her great-grandchildren,
3Kathryn, Emily, Madison, Korin, and Andrew; her
4step-grandchildren, Daniel, Christian, Lindsay, Steve, Jill,
5Robby, and Becky; her step-great-grandchildren; her
6sisters-in-law, Ruby Overton and Frances Russell; her nieces,
7Jeannie Nassello, Becky Taylor, and Nancy Scahill; and her
8nephew, Jim Overton; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Mundell; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Dorothy Mundell as a symbol of our
15sincere sympathy.
