SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Norma Lee Smith of Benton, who passed
4away on September 30, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born November 24, 1929, in West City, to
6Melvin and Mayme (Davis) Bigham; she married Charles M. Smith
7on February 14, 1947, in Pocahontas, Arkansas; he passed away
8on October 6, 2011; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith was of the Non-Denominational faith;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents;
12her sons, Richard and Charles; her brothers, Max and Jack
13Bigham; and her sisters, Audrey Lindsey, Gladys Mitchell, Mary
14Isaacs, and Velma Zimmer; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Norma Lee Smith is survived by her son, Robert
16Smith and wife, Pamela; her daughters, Suella Sullivan and
17Melony Dalby and husband, Robert; her grandchildren, Dean
18Smith, Shauna Smith Mullins and husband, Dale, Andrea Smith
19Butler and husband, Brian, and David Brown; her
20great-grandchildren, Katlyn and Faith Wyant, Peyton and Hannah
21Robinson, Allen Mullins, and Tyler and Chloe Butler; and

1several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
4her family and friends, the passing of Norma Lee Smith; and be
5it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Norma Lee Smith as a symbol of our
8sincere sympathy.
