SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patsy Lee Batts of Benton, who passed
4away on September 30, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born October 7, 1930, in West Frankfort,
6the daughter of Commodore Birl Rose and Effie (Boyd) Rose; she
7married James Robert Batts on June 13, 1953; and
 
8    WHEREAS, She worked as a librarian for the Benton Public
9Library before her retirement in 1995; she was a member of
10Forest Baptist Church in Benton; and
 
11    WHEREAS, She enjoyed cooking, reading, antiquing, and
12spending time with her grandchildren; and
 
13    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her
14husband; and her brother, Walter Ray Rose; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Patsy Batts is survived by her daughter, Susan
16Batts; her sons, Alan Batts and wife, Mary, Jim Batts and wife,
17Betty, and Steve Batts; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jennifer,
18and Leslie Batts, and Kara and Ryan Batts; her sisters-in-law,
19Joann Rose and Evelyn Batts; her nieces and nephews; and
20special friend, Dorthea Sneed; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3her family and friends, the passing of Patsy Batts; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Patsy Batts as a symbol of our
7sincere sympathy.
