SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Adelaide E. Hughes of Waukegan, who
4passed away on July 13, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes was born on November 10, 1922, in
6Onida, South Dakota; she was a graduate of Coe College in Cedar
7Rapids, Iowa; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Prior to her marriage, Adelaide Hughes taught high
9school biology in Muskegon, Michigan; after her children were
10grown, she worked in the secretarial field for Jobs, Inc. for
11many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes was a member of First Presbyterian
13Church of Waukegan; she had recently been honored as a 60-year
14member of P.E.O.; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes was preceded in death by her
16parents, Fredrick and Jean Thompson; her siblings, Sinclair
17Thompson, Reginald Thompson, Dorothy Duzynski, and David
18Thompson; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and
19Luella Hughes; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes is survived by her loving husband,

1George Hughes; her daughters, Jean Fitzpatrick, Katherine
2Hughes, and Dorothy (Jerry) Kraus; her son, William (Ruth
3Buddenhagen) Hughes; her grandchildren, Christopher Hughes,
4Rachel Hughes, Karolena Hughes, Alexander Hughes, Elizabeth
5Schroeder, Mallory Schroeder, Adam Schroeder, and Eric
6Schroeder; her sisters, Margaret (Richard) Farrar and Jananne
7Thompson; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
8great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12her family and friends, the passing of Adelaide E. Hughes; and
13be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Adelaide Hughes as an expression of
16our sympathy.
