SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James R. Bracy of Herrin, who passed away
4on October 20, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born November 4, 1930, in Herrin, to Floyd
6P. and Ruth Woodley Bracy; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He was the owner of Bracy Insurance and Real
8Estate in Herrin for more than 50 years; he served in the
9United States Air Force; he was a member of the First United
10Methodist Church board of trustees; he belonged to the United
11Methodist Men at the church and was chairman of the Trust
12Committee at the church; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was a member of Herrin Masonic Lodge 693 and
14the Shriners', he served as past president of the Herrin
15Jaycees and the Herrin Chamber of Commerce; he served on the
16United Way board of directors, and he was a Boy Scout, a Scout
17master, and a recipient of the Silver Beaver award; and
 
18    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his
19brother, Bill Bracy; and his nephew, James Melvin Bracy; and
 
20    WHEREAS, James Bracy is survived by his wife, Joan

2Bracy, and Debbie Bracy; his grandchildren, Ryan Bracy, Tiffany
3Bracy, Brandon Nipper, and Evan Collier; and one
4great-grandchild, Evaley Collier; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of James Bracy; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of James Bracy as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
