SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Randy W. Waddell of Tremont, who passed
4away on November 6, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born December 16, 1949, in Pekin, the son
6of William D. and Louise Antonini Waddell; he married Cathy
7Kuykendall on April 29, 1978, in Morton; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was employed at Caterpillar Inc. for 40 years,
9retiring in 2008 as a research mechanic at the Peoria Proving
10Ground; he also farmed in Tazewell County for 33 years; he
11enjoyed landscaping, boating, water skiing, spending time with
12family and friends, and serving others; he was a member of St.
13John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Following the death of his daughter, Ashley, in
162005, he devoted his life to and was passionate about educating
17young drivers in area high schools and other venues; he and his
18wife gave 80 presentations that reached 38,000 people; he also
19worked with Illinois legislators to bring reform to teenage
20driving standards; and
 
21    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley

1Marie Waddell; and his grandparents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Randy Waddell is survived by his wife, Cathy; his
3parents, William D. and Louise Waddell; his daughter, Chelsi
4Ann (C.J. Carlin) Waddell; his sisters, Susan (Bob) Clemens and
5Crystal (Carl) Soderstrom; as well as several aunts, uncles,
6nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9his family and friends, the passing of Randy Waddell; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Randy Waddell as a symbol of our
13sincere sympathy.
