SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William H. "Bill" Lipsey, who passed away
4on January 3, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Lipsey was born on February 24, 1917; he
6was a lifelong resident of Joliet; and
 
7    WHEREAS, William Lipsey served with the United States Army
8in the European Theatre during World War II; he was a member of
9the 115th Bomb Disposal Squad, where he performed operations in
10France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany; he was a recipient of
11the Bronze Star for his meritorious service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Lipsey retired after many years of service
13as a real estate developer; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Lipsey was a member of the Joliet Jewish
15Congregation B'Nai Brith; he was a board member of Trinity
16School and a 50-year Exchange Club member; he was a past
17president of the Joliet Jewish Congregation, the Joliet Chapter
18of Unico National, the Will County Health Department, the
19Joliet Exchange Club, and the Will County Forest Preserve; he
20was a past board member of the Guardian Angel Home, Easter
21Seals, and the Joliet Junior College Foundation Board; he also

1served as a member of the Will County Board for 14 years; and
 
2    WHEREAS, William Lipsey was preceded in death by his loving
3wife, Theresa M. "Jeri" Lipsey; his daughter, Sharon Smithson;
4his parents, Sam and Rose Lipsey; and his brothers, Bernard J.
5"Bud" and Stanley Lipsey; and
 
6    WHEREAS, William Lipsey is survived by his daughters, Nancy
7Malmfeldt and Rose (John) DelRose; his granddaughters, Tammy
8Adbughani, Kim (Bob) Libman, Jodi Kirk, Rachel Malmfeldt, Gina
9DelRose, and Jennifer (Matt) McCann; his grandsons, John
10Elliott, Gerald (Dawn) Malmfeldt, and Jason (Jenica) DelRose;
11his great-grandchildren, Jerrica and Dane Malmfeldt, Logan and
12Ameena Adbughani, Benjamin Kozuh, Violet McCann, Gianna
13Delrose, and Alex and Joshua Libman; and his sister-in-law,
14Gloria D. (Wyss) Lipsey; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
17his family and friends, the passing of William H. "Bill"
18Lipsey; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of William Lipsey as an expression of
21our sympathy.
