SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roberta L. "Bobbie" Vandalia, who passed
4away on January 16, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was born on January 7, 1945, in
6Alton; she was the daughter of Robert and Pat (Brown) Wohlert;
7she married Robert L. Vandalia on August 7, 1969, in Alton; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was the owner and operator of
9Golden Shears Hair Studio in Alton; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was a member of the College
11Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton, where she served as an
12elder and deacon; she served as a Stephen Minister, head of the
13Aids Interfaith Response Group, and head of the Aids Support
14Group at the church; she also conceived and organized the
15annual community Christmas dinner; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was a talented artist; she also
17built and furnished doll houses and made bread dough flowers;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia is survived by her husband,
20Robert L. Vandalia; her sister and brother-in-law, Zona and

1Bill Dodd; her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Sherry
2Wohlert; her nieces and nephews, Dawn and Jerry Cooley, Shawn
3and Joe Yates, Tony and Heather Dodd, Vance and Marjorie
4Wohlert, Troy Wohlert, Judy and Bob Baum, and Chris Russell;
5her 17 great-nieces and nephews; and her aunts, Carolyn Brown
6and Jackie Wohnlich; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9her family and friends, the passing of Roberta L. Vandalia; and
10be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Roberta Vandalia as an expression of
13our sympathy.
