SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael J. Chiaventone of Herrin, who
4passed away on March 7, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born October 1, 1953, in Herrin to James F.
6and Delene J. (Marlow) Chiaventone; he married Jetta Rae Elston
7on June 5, 1976, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in
8Herrin; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was a registered pharmacist who graduated from
10St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1976; he owned and operated
11Moroni Drugs Inc. in Herrin for 30 years and most recently
12worked as a pharmacist at Walgreens in Herrin; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was a member of the Illinois Pharmacists
14Association, the Herrin Elks, and the Herrin Knights of
15Columbus; in his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his
16friends at Pigeon Inn, golfing, attending SIU basketball and
17St. Louis Cardinals baseball games, and horse racing at
18Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky; and
 
19    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his mother, Delene;
20and his grandparents, Joseph and Florence Chiaventone and Emma
21and Charles Marlow; and

1    WHEREAS, Michael Chiaventone is survived by his wife, Jetta
2Chiaventone; his daughters, Kelley Chiaventone Dacus and
3husband, Keith, and Leslie Chiaventone; his grandchildren,
4Annemarie and Clayton Michael Dacus; his father, James
5Chiaventone; his brother, Pat Chiaventone and wife, Carmen; his
6brother, Russell Chiaventone and wife, Judy; his
7father-in-law, George Elston; several nieces, nephews, and
8cousins; as well as numerous close friends and colleagues;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Michael Chiaventone; and
13be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Michael Chiaventone as a symbol of
16our sincere sympathy.
