SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Larry L. Davis of Peoria, who passed away
4on March 29, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Davis was born on July 11, 1936, in East
6Peoria; his parents were Welcome and Elsie Prichett Davis; he
7married Shirley Carlton, and later married Beverly Fleener on
8July 5, 1991, in East Peoria; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Larry Davis was a track and field star at East
10Peoria Community High School and was a graduate of the
11Caterpillar Apprenticeship Program; he was employed as a
12processor in the office for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years until
13his retirement in 1985; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Larry Davis was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church
15in Bartonville; he was also a past president of the East Peoria
16Jaycees, a member of Timber Lake Club and Elks in Peoria, and a
17member of Pine Lakes; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Larry Davis enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling,
19playing kitten ball with the Jaycees, and was proud of making a
20hole-in-one; he was also a founding member and player of the
21Tippecanoe Invitational Tournament, held yearly in Indiana;

2    WHEREAS, Larry Davis was preceded in death by his parents,
3his 3 brothers; and his sister; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Larry Davis is survived by his wife, Beverly; his
5children, Connie (Dr. Larry) Nord and Larry (Eden) Davis Jr.;
6his stepchildren, Kelly Pulfrey and Gregg Chamberlain; his 8
7grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; and his siblings,
8Welcome (Joyce) Davis, Bill (Annabelle) Davis, Jerry (Arlene)
9Davis, and Joyce Davis; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Larry L. Davis; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Larry Davis as an expression of our
16sympathy.
