SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Warren Sloan of West
4Frankfort, who passed away on July 24, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was born in West Frankfort on April
611, 1926, to Ira and Flossie (Broy) Sloan; he married June
7Forbuss on August 8, 1946; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was a U.S. Army veteran during World
9War II and the Korean War; he was in the 764th Field Artillery;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was a member of Moose Lodge 795, Elks
12Lodge 1340, and VFW Local 5764; he was precinct committee man
13for Frankfort 2, trustee for Freeman 3, member of the Frankfort
14Township Board, retired coal miner, street supervisor, and
15business agent for Local 188 Laborers Union; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was preceded in death by his parents,
17Ira and Flossie Sloan; his son, Alan Sloan; his brothers, Leroy
18and Phillip Sloan; and his sister Lucille Blades; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Warren Sloan is survived by his wife, June; his
20sons, Bob (Paula) Sloan, Chuck Sloan, Kenny (Connie) Sloan, and

1Jim (Darla) Sloan; his daughter, Nora (Charlie) Lelase; his
2nephews, Ronnie (Sandy) Sloan, and Jeff, Brett, and Jason
3Sloan; his grandchildren, Bart, Andy, Neil, Brittany, and Nick;
4and his great-grandchildren, Tenzley, Sandler, and Avery;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Warren Sloan, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Warren Sloan as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
