SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Walter R. Rankin of Herrin, who passed
4away on July 9, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Walter Rankin was born on January 22, 1936, in
6Maringouin, Louisiana; his parents were Carl W. and Lena
7(Zwick) Rankin; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Walter Rankin was employed by Norge (Maytag) and
9General Dynamics; he retired from Johnson Control in Cadiz,
10Kentucky in 1994; after retiring, he lived in Sebring, Florida,
11where he fished with many of his friends, including his fishing
12buddy, William (Bill) Barton; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Walter Rankin enjoyed working in tool and die
14engineering; he was also an avid reader and enjoyed westerns
15and suspense thrillers; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Walter Rankin was preceded in death by his
17parents; his brothers-in-law, Joe Molla and Wayne Yohe; and his
18sister-in-law, Juanita (Gulley) Rankin; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Walter Rankin is survived by his daughter and
20son-in-law, Brenda and John Brewster, and their children,

1Travis and Patrick; his stepson, Randy Sellars, and his
2daughters, Casey Slavin, Torrie Sellars, and Danny Sellars; his
3brother, John W. Rankin, and his children, Karla Rankin and
4Kevin Rankin; and his sisters, Louise Molla and her children,
5Christine Shadewalt, Mary Baker, and Matthew Molla; Lanora Yohe
6and her children, Rhonda Parrott and Cindy Bagley; and Cathy
7Collins, her husband, Dennis Collins, and their children, Brian
8and Valerie; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of Walter R. Rankin; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Walter Rankin as an expression of
15our sympathy.
