    Amends the Illinois Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Provides that electronic cigarette cartridges and liquids sold and marketed for the refilling of e-cigarette cartridges may be sold only in special packaging. Provides that the Department of Public Health shall adopt rules establishing the standards for special packaging to be used for e-cigarette products. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Poison Prevention Packaging Act is
5amended by changing Section 2 and by adding Sections 2.10 and
610 as follows:
 
7    (430 ILCS 40/2)  (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 292)
8    Sec. 2.
9    The words and phrases used in this Act have the meanings
10set out in Sections 2.01 to 2.10 2.05, unless the context
11clearly indicates otherwise.

14    Sec. 2.10. Electronic cigarettes. "Electronic cigarette"
15or "e-cigarette" means a battery-operated device that contains
16cartridges filled with a combination of nicotine, flavor, and
17chemicals that are turned into vapor which is inhaled by the
18user.

5    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6becoming law.
