1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 54 as follows: |
6 | | (70 ILCS 3605/54 new) |
7 | | Sec. 54. Apprenticeship program. |
8 | | (a) The Board shall create an apprenticeship program |
9 | | through the Authority. To participate in the program, |
10 | | individuals should contact and submit applications created by |
11 | | the Board by rule to the Westside Health Authority, which shall |
12 | | then refer applications to one of the following agencies: |
13 | | (1) The Cara Program; |
14 | | (2) Career Advancement Network; |
15 | | (3) Haymarket Center; |
16 | | (4) Phalanx Family Services; |
17 | | (5) North Lawndale Employment Network; |
18 | | (6) St. Leonard's Ministries; |
19 | | (7) Safer Foundation; or |
20 | | (8) Westside Health Authority. |
21 | | (b) The Board shall adopt rules regarding the following: |
22 | | (1) The duties of the participants in the program |
23 | | including, but not limited to, maintenance, cleaning, and |
