Creates the Chemicals in Commercial Products Act. Creates the Task Force on Chemicals in Commercial Products. Provides that the task force shall (1) prepare a report evaluating the risks to human health and safety posed by the presence of chemicals classified as priority chemicals by the federal Safer Chemistry Challenge Program within commercial products sold in this State, and (2) provide recommendations to the General Assembly as to whether further legislation is needed to regulate priority chemicals in commercial products in this State. Contains a repealer provision.

1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
5 | | Chemicals in Commercial Products. |
6 | | Section 5. Task Force on Chemicals in Commercial Products. |
7 | | (a) There is hereby created the Task Force on Chemicals in |
8 | | Commercial Products.

9 | | (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: |
10 | | (1) Four legislators, appointed one each by the |
11 | | President of the Senate, the Minority Leader of the Senate, |
12 | | the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the |
13 | | Minority Leader of the House of Representatives;
|
14 | | (2) The Governor, or his or her designee;
|
15 | | (3) The Director of the Illinois Environmental |
16 | | Protection Agency, or his or her designee;
|
17 | | (4) The Director of the Department of Public Health, or |
18 | | his or her designee;
|
19 | | (5) The Attorney General of the State of Illinois, or |
20 | | his or her designee; and
|
21 | | (6) Four members from entities representing the |
22 | | interests of manufacturers in this State appointed by the |
23 | | Governor. |
