HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, In unity, there is strength; and
 
3    WHEREAS, The more that local, State, and federal law
4enforcement agencies and operations reinforce one another,
5share information and resources, de-conflict operations,
6establish priorities, and focus energies across the spectrum of
7criminal activities, the more effective the outcome of separate
8activities undertaken by those organizations; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Intelligence gleaned from the collection,
10evaluation, analysis, and synthesis of information must be
11shared in order to reduce crime; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Collaboration encourages a coordinated and
13organized response to criminal activity throughout the target
14jurisdiction, diminishing gaps in interagency communication
15and intelligence; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tactical intelligence is time-sensitive and
17crucial to the effective execution of arrests and seizures; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Law enforcement agencies must be able to share
19relevant information and intelligence across jurisdictional
20boundaries without risk of compromise to intelligence and the

1operations that derive from it; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4we encourage the Illinois State Police, the Federal Bureau of
5Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration to
6share information in order to more effectively combat crime;
7and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
9delivered to the Illinois State Police, the Federal Bureau of
10Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
