2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate
Sean Considine of | ||||||
4 | the Baltimore Ravens on his Super Bowl championship; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Sean Considine is originally from Byron; he | ||||||
6 | graduated from Byron High School and currently
lives there with | ||||||
7 | his wife and 4 children; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Sean Considine played high school football at | ||||||
9 | Byron High School; he received several honors
during his high | ||||||
10 | school football career including being named first team | ||||||
11 | all-conference selection
as a sophomore, junior, and senior; he | ||||||
12 | was named to Illinois Coaches Association all-State team as a
| ||||||
13 | junior and senior and was named first team all-State as a | ||||||
14 | senior by the Chicago Sun-Times and special
mention by the | ||||||
15 | Chicago Tribune; he assisted his team in winning the State | ||||||
16 | title in 1999 and he holds
the school records for career | ||||||
17 | rushing yards, touchdowns in a season, and touchdowns in a | ||||||
18 | career; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Sean Considine went on to play football at the | ||||||
20 | University of Iowa, where he
received the academic all-Big Ten | ||||||
21 | honor 3 years in a row and earned the Hustle Team Award
for | ||||||
22 | special teams 2 years in a row; in 2003, he won the Coaches |

1 | Appreciation Award for
defense, the Hustle Team Award for | ||||||
2 | defense, and was one of 3 juniors to be selected to team
| ||||||
3 | Leadership Council, and was selected to the Leadership Council | ||||||
4 | again his senior year; during his junior year he tied for fifth | ||||||
5 | in the
Big Ten Conference in the number of recovered fumbles; | ||||||
6 | and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Sean Considine was drafted as a 4th round pick in | ||||||
8 | the 2005 NFL Draft by the
Philadelphia Eagles; he played with | ||||||
9 | the Eagles from 2005-2008, where he posted a career high
14 | ||||||
10 | tackles in one game against Washington in 2006; he went on to | ||||||
11 | play with the Jacksonville
Jaguars from 2009-2010, then in | ||||||
12 | 2011, he played with the Carolina Panthers and Arizona
| ||||||
13 | Cardinals; in 2012 he played with the Baltimore Ravens; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Playing with the Baltimore Ravens, Sean Considine | ||||||
15 | finished fourth on the team with 7 special
teams tackles; he | ||||||
16 | led the team with 2 solo special teams tackles in the game | ||||||
17 | against Washington;
he has a career total of 100 special teams | ||||||
18 | stops; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Sean Considine was a member of the Baltimore | ||||||
20 | Ravens team that played in and won Super Bowl
XLVII, where he | ||||||
21 | made a key block in the opening of the third quarter allowing a | ||||||
22 | touchdown by a
fellow teammate which became the longest kickoff | ||||||
23 | return in Super Bowl history; therefore, be it

for his Super Bowl championship | ||||||
4 | and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it | ||||||
