HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are honored to congratulate Cyril A. "Bud"
4Stobaugh Jr. on the occasion of his retirement as Mayor of the
5City of Farmington; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh was born on October 23, 1931, to
7Cyril A. Stobaugh Sr. and Mary Boldys; he graduated from
8Farmington Community High School in 1949; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh began working for the Caterpillar
10Tractor Company on February 6, 1950; he retired as a technical
11writer in the Service Information Department in January of
121991, after 41 years of dedicated service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh voluntarily enlisted in the United
14States Air Force on April 4, 1951, and served during the Korean
15War; he was honorably discharged on November 13, 1953, and held
16the designation of inactive reserve for 8 years until the end
17of the war; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh was a member of the Farmington City
19Council and served as the City of Farmington Police
20Commissioner for 8 years; he was elected to a 2-year term as
21Mayor of Farmington on April 1, 2003, and served 2 four-year

1terms; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh married Norma Jeanne Paine on July 3,
31954; together, they had 4 children, Michael, James, Patricia
4(St. Tourangeau), and Timothy Stobaugh, and 6 grandchildren,
5David Stobaugh, Sarah Stobaugh, Ryan Stobaugh, Rachel
6Stobaugh, Erica Stobaugh, and Marc Tourangeau; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we congratulate Cyril A. "Bud" Stobaugh Jr. on the occasion of
10his retirement as Mayor of the City of Farmington and thank him
11for his dedicated service and leadership to the City of
12Farmington; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Bud Stobaugh as an expression of our esteem and
15respect.
