HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Carmel Catholic
4High School algebra and geometry teacher Jane Sharon Grant
5Conarchy as she retires from her position; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jane Conarchy was born in Chicago on November 30,
71935, to Edmund and Norberta Grant, the first-born of 5
8siblings; she married John "Jack" Conarchy on June 4, 1960, in
9Chicago and they settled in Waukegan; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jane Conarchy began teaching at Carmel High School
11for Girls in 1984 and taught for 4 years until the school
12merged with Carmel High School for Boys in 1988 to become
13Carmel High School, later renamed Carmel Catholic High School;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jane Conarchy was active in many support functions
16while at Carmel including Math Club moderator, Game Club
17moderator, moderator for ushers at theatrical and music
18productions, chaperone for many school dances, and attended
19dozens of Kairos girls' retreats as a retreat leader; she
20performed in 35 Waukegan Room productions at the annual Street
21Scenes fundraiser for Carmel; and

1    WHEREAS, Jane Conarchy was an avid Carmel Corsairs fan and
2frequently attended Corsair sporting events of all kinds,
3including numerous State titles in girls gymnastics; her most
4enjoyable event was her trip to Champaign to see the Corsairs
5win the 2003 State football championship; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jane Conarchy is mother to Jane, John Jr., Edmund,
7Sheila, Erin, Meghan, Kevin, and Brigid; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we are pleased to congratulate Jane Conarchy as she steps down
11from her teaching position at Carmel Catholic High School,
12thank her for her commitment to education, and wish her the
13best with all her future endeavours; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Jane Conarchy as an expression of our esteem and
16respect.
