HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate David P. Beasley on the
4occasion of his retirement from the Illinois State Police on
5November 30, 2013; and
 
6    WHEREAS, David Beasley began his career with the Illinois
7State Police on December 15, 1985 when he was appointed to
8Cadet Class 77; after graduating from the Academy on April 4,
91986, he was assigned to District 4 patrol in the Chicago area;
10on February 1, 1987, he was transferred to District 10 patrol;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, On June 1, 1997, David Beasley was promoted to the
13rank of Sergeant and began serving in the Illinois State
14Police's Operational Service Command's Commercial Motor
15Vehicle Unit; while in the commercial vehicle unit, he oversaw
16the Illinois State Police's enforcement effort towards second
17division vehicles; he also trained cadets in the academy on
18hazardous materials, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
19Regulations, other second division vehicle issues such as
20vehicle size, weight, load, and permits, and various aspects of
21the Illinois Vehicle Code; and
 
22    WHEREAS, On July 1, 2002, David Beasley was promoted to the

1rank of Master Sergeant; on November 1, 2007, he was promoted
2to the rank of Lieutenant; on January 1, 2011, he was assigned
3to the position of Interim District 10 Commander, where he
4remained until December 16, 2011, when he was promoted to the
5rank of Captain and was assigned to the position of District 10
6Commander; and
 
7    WHEREAS, After retiring, David Beasley will continue
8working as the assistant director of public safety and deputy
9chief of police with Millikin University's newly organized
10Department of Public Safety; he and his wife, Caroline, will
11undoubtedly enjoy his retirement years; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate David P. Beasley on the occasion of his
15retirement from the Illinois State Police and wish him
16continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to David Beasley as a symbol of our esteem and
20respect.
