| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Naomi Walters-Lenoci on | ||||||
| 4 | having the reserve in Hanover Township, formerly known as "Lacy | ||||||
| 5 | Park", renamed in her honor as the "Naomi Walters-Lenoci | ||||||
| 6 | Reserve"; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci moved to Streamwood in 1972; | ||||||
| 8 | she joined the Streamwood Woman's Club and was a founding | ||||||
| 9 | member of the Streamwood Historical Society and the Poplar | ||||||
| 10 | Creek Social Club; in 1981, she was recognized as Woman of the | ||||||
| 11 | Year by the Junior Women's Clubs of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci was a member of the | ||||||
| 13 | Streamwood Park District Board for 22 years and is the | ||||||
| 14 | district's longest-serving commissioner; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci's service to the community | ||||||
| 16 | has been recognized with the dedication of a gazebo in her | ||||||
| 17 | honor at the Streamwood Park District's Hoosier Grove Park, and | ||||||
| 18 | she has received the Supervisor's Community Service Award as | ||||||
| 19 | Senior Volunteer of the Year; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci continues to serve the | ||||||
| 21 | community, sitting on the Hanover Township Senior Citizens | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Services Committee and serving as the committee's chair; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci has demonstrated a passion | ||||||
| 3 | and dedication for the preservation of open spaces within the | ||||||
| 4 | community, ensuring that her motto, "parks provide the smiles", | ||||||
| 5 | holds true; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Naomi Walters-Lenoci is a dedicated wife, mother, | ||||||
| 7 | grandmother, and public servant; her husband is Joseph Lenoci; | ||||||
| 8 | they have 2 daughters, Kelly Peters and Sue Price, and 4 | ||||||
| 9 | grandchildren, 2 boys and 2 girls; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The dedication for the "Naomi Walters-Lenoci | ||||||
| 11 | Reserve" will be held October 18, 2014 in Streamwood; | ||||||
| 12 | therefore, be it

| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 14 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate Naomi Walters-Lenoci on having the reserve in | ||||||
| 16 | Hanover Township, formerly known as "Lacy Park", renamed as the | ||||||
| 17 | "Naomi Walters-Lenoci Reserve" in her honor; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to Naomi Walters-Lenoci as an expression of our | ||||||
| 20 | esteem and respect.
