| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Robert Skidmore on the |
| 4 | | occasion of his retirement from the Lake County Treasurer's |
| 5 | | Office after 30 years of service; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore was born and raised in Highland |
| 7 | | Park and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1971 |
| 8 | | with a bachelor's degree in education; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore began his career with the Lake |
| 10 | | County Treasurer's Office in 1984 as an assistant cashier; he |
| 11 | | was first elected Lake County Treasurer in 1998 and re-elected |
| 12 | | in 2002, 2006, and 2010, serving for 16 years; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Robert Skidmore, the Lake |
| 14 | | County Treasurer's Office implemented 2
major computer system |
| 15 | | upgrades that have improved efficiency in the tax collection |
| 16 | | and distribution
processes; the office also launched a |
| 17 | | user-friendly informative website and online bill payment |
| 18 | | system; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, In 2010, Robert Skidmore was awarded a Bronze |
| 20 | | Level Certified County Officials
Certificate for his |
| 21 | | demonstration of professionalism and dedication to enhancing |
|

| 1 | | his knowledge
through advanced education; and
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore's dedication to Lake County |
| 3 | | extends beyond his duties as Treasurer; he has been an active |
| 4 | | supporter of several organizations and
causes including: the |
| 5 | | Boys & Girls Club of Lake County, Catholic Charities USA, the |
| 6 | | United Way of Lake
County, the Lake County Counsel for Seniors, |
| 7 | | the Mano a Mano Family Resource Center, the Waukegan Township |
| 8 | | Staben House, A Safe Place,
the South Lake County Community |
| 9 | | Emergency Response Team, and Kids Hope; and |
| 10 | | |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore currently resides in Mundelein |
| 12 | | with his wife, Ingrid, and their 3 daughters; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert Skidmore's retirement will be official on |
| 14 | | November 30, 2014; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 16 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 17 | | we congratulate Robert Skidmore on his retirement from the Lake |
| 18 | | County Treasurer's Office after 30 years of service and wish |
| 19 | | him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to Robert Skidmore as an expression of our esteem and |
| 22 | | respect.
