HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to mourn the death of Ronald "Ron"
4Dean Marx, who passed away on November 23, 2014 after a
5courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ron Marx was born on July 6, 1959 in Morris; his
7parents were Robert Marx and Ellen Marx; he was raised in
8Morris, graduating with the Class of 1977 from Morris High
9School, and was married to Barb (nee Neal) Siegel; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ron Marx served in law enforcement as a patrolman
11in Morris for 5 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ron Marx started his career in 1991 as a
13firefighter and paramedic with the Naperville Fire Department,
14where he served for over 20 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Through his service with the Naperville Fire
16Department, Ron Marx was dedicated to working with the
17community to strengthen relations, serving on many teams and
18committees; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ron Marx worked on the Naperville Fire
20Department's accreditation process and transition into the

1Edward Hospital Emergency Medical System; he was also part of
2the Naperville Fire Department Fire Investigation Team; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ron Marx was known for his work with the
4Naperville Fire Department Public Education Team, where his
5luminous personality was a perfect fit for interacting with the
6public; those who knew him best characterized him as a true
7leader and great mentor to many new firefighters and
8paramedics; and
 
9    WHEREAS, On June 15, 2006, Ron Marx became a member of the
10Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District; he was promoted
11to the rank of Lieutenant in January of 2012; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ron Marx was a dedicated leader who worked in the
13development of training programs and officer development
14within the fire department; he rode in the fire engine until
15the day he was diagnosed; and
 
16    WHEREAS, On December 16, 2006, Ron Marx married Tina Darm,
17who describes him as the most gentle, loving person she has
18ever met; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ron Marx enjoyed traveling, camping, and the
20outdoors, but his greatest love was fire service and his 4
21grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Ron Marx was preceded in death by his father; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Ron Marx is survived by his wife, Tina; his
3mother; 2 children, Nicole (Dave) Barr and Brad Chapman; 4
4grandchildren, Kiersten, Travis, Aubree, and Olivia Barr; 6
5siblings, Robert (Kim), Karen (Gary) Marshall, John (Deb),
6Jerry (Patti), Darrell (Lyn), and Dennis; and many nieces and
7nephews; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ron Marx is loved dearly by his family and
9friends, highly respected for his dedication and knowledge of
10fire service, and cherished for his service to his community;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we mourn the passing of Ronald "Ron" Dean Marx and extend our
15sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Ron Marx as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
