|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Elizabeth A. Robb on the |
4 | | occasion of her retirement as Chief Judge of the 11th Judicial |
5 | | Circuit; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb was elected by her colleagues to serve |
7 | | as Chief Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit in 2004 and has |
8 | | been selected to serve in the position continuously for 10 |
9 | | years; she previously served as an Associate Circuit Judge and |
10 | | as Circuit Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit; she was the |
11 | | first woman to hold these offices, inspiring women to pursue |
12 | | success and excellence in the field of law; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb has successfully practiced law as a |
14 | | sole practitioner in a private law practice; she has also been |
15 | | a partner in the law firm of Reynard & Robb in Bloomington and |
16 | | has served as Assistant Juvenile Public Defender for McLean |
17 | | County; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb has willingly and selflessly shared her |
19 | | wealth of knowledge and expertise with students in business law |
20 | | at Illinois State University and Illinois Wesleyan University; |
21 | | she has also presented countless programs and workshops to the |
22 | | edification of others in the fields of law, justice, human |

1 | | services, and social services; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb earned her Bachelor of Arts degree |
3 | | (magna cum laude) from Illinois Wesleyan University and her |
4 | | Juris Doctor from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law; |
5 | | and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb has been appointed to serve state-wide |
7 | | on numerous committees and conferences, including the |
8 | | Executive Committee, Committee on Strategic Planning, and |
9 | | Committee on Juvenile Justice of the Judicial Conference of |
10 | | Illinois; the Illinois Juvenile Justice Leadership Council; |
11 | | the Illinois Supreme Court's Special Judicial Advisory |
12 | | Committee for Justice and Mental Health Planning; she served as |
13 | | the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Court Reporting |
14 | | Services Agency and Chair of the Judicial Mentor Committee; she |
15 | | was also the first woman to be elected as the Chair of the |
16 | | Conference of Chief Justices; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb helped to establish innovative and |
18 | | groundbreaking programs to improve court services and the |
19 | | support of justice and dignity for the vulnerable and at-risk, |
20 | | mostly notably the Court Appointed Special Advocates program, |
21 | | the McLean County Drug Court, the McLean County Recovery Court, |
22 | | the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, the Small Claims |
23 | | Mediation Program, and the McLean County Mortgage Foreclosure |

1 | | Mediation Program; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb and her husband, Alan Sender, have been |
3 | | married for more than 30 years; they have 2 children, Jessica |
4 | | and Molly; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Judge Robb has broken the mold of Chief Judge |
6 | | beyond its administrative duties with a desire to tackle |
7 | | community issues for the benefit of all with a focused resolve |
8 | | that has earned her the respect of any who know her; therefore, |
9 | | be it

10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
11 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
12 | | we congratulate Elizabeth A. Robb on the occasion of her |
13 | | retirement and wish her continued success and happiness in the |
14 | | future; and be it further

15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
16 | | presented to Elizabeth Robb as a symbol of our esteem and |
17 | | respect.
