| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Elevator Safety and Regulation Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 50 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (225 ILCS 312/50)
|
| 7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2023)
|
| 8 | | Sec. 50. Qualifications for elevator inspector's license.
|
| 9 | | (a) No inspector's license shall be granted to any person |
| 10 | | who has not paid
the
required application fee.
|
| 11 | | (b) No inspector's license shall be granted to any person, |
| 12 | | unless he or she has been certified as meeting the requirements |
| 13 | | of ASME QEI-1 by a nationally or internationally recognized |
| 14 | | independent organization concerned with personnel |
| 15 | | certification he or she
proves
to the satisfaction of the |
| 16 | | Administrator that he or she meets the current ASME
QEI-1,

| 17 | | Standards for the Qualifications of Elevator Inspectors.
