SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
70 ILCS 705/16.03  from Ch. 127 1/2, par. 37.03

    Amends the Fire Protection District Act. Provides that appointed members must possess the qualifications required of other officers of the fire protection district, as well as those required by another Section of this Act. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by
5changing Section 16.03 as follows:
 
6    (70 ILCS 705/16.03)  (from Ch. 127 1/2, par. 37.03)
7    Sec. 16.03. Of the three members of a board of fire
8commissioners, one shall be a representative citizen of the
9employee class, one shall be a representative citizen chosen
10from the employing class, and the other shall be a
11representative citizen not identified with either the
12employing or employee class and each Appointed members of a
13board of fire commissioners shall possess the qualifications
14required of other officers of the fire protection district and
15by Section 16.02 of this Act, shall take oath, or affirmation,
16of office, give bond, and shall be subject to removal from
17office, in the same manner as other appointive officers of the
18fire protection district and consistent with the provisions of
19Section 16.02 hereof.

21    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
22becoming law.
