SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary M. Mattson, who passed away on March
49, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Mattson was born in Manistique, Michigan, on
6March 9, 1943; she later moved to Joliet and started her
7family; and
 
8    WHEREAS, While at home raising her own children, Mary
9Mattson began to work as a home daycare provider; she bestowed
10much love and compassion to many children of the Joliet area
11for over 30 years; she also volunteered her time preparing and
12serving her "special meals" for DayBreak Shelter for over 35
13years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Mattson was a member of St. Patrick Catholic
15Church; she also attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mary Mattson enjoyed spending time with her
18grandchildren and visiting the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
19where she was born and reminiscing about past family histories;
20and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Mattson was preceded in death by her parents,
2Orville and Charlo Mayhew, and her sister, Flora Anthes; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mary Mattson is survived by her children,
4Elizabeth A. (Greg) Ragusa, Eric R. Mattson and Amy M. (Don)
5Raymer; her grandchildren, Alaina, Alex, and Abby Ragusa and
6Allison, Ashley, and Andrew Raymer; her sisters, Barb Allen and
7Cathy Bullard; her brothers-in-law, Jake Anthes and Jim and
8Thom Mattson; her sister-in-law, Laura Hines; and her many
9nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12her family and friends, the passing of Mary M. Mattson; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mary Mattson as an expression of our
16sympathy.
