SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jacqueline Louise Day of Springfield, who
4passed away on July 6, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jacqueline Day was born on September 26, 1940, in
6Springfield; her parents were Margaret Vivian King and James
7"Jack" Edward Martin; she married John William Day, Sr. on
8February 13, 1965; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jacqueline Day retired from the Illinois
10Department of Public Aid after many years of dedicated service;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jacqueline Day was a member of Miracle Temple
13Church of God in Christ, where she was the church mother and
14charter member since 1984; she was very faithful and dedicated
15to the work of the Lord; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jacqueline Day was preceded in death by her
17parents; her sister, Mary Horton; her brother, Eddie Griswell,
18Jr.; and her son, John W. Day, Jr.; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jacqueline Day is survived by her husband, John
20Day, Sr.; her daughters, Pamela Chandler, Joan (Theo) Joyner,

1and Marcia (Andrei) Newbon; her 12 grandchildren; her 5
2great-grandchildren; her brother, James Martin; her sisters,
3Margaritte (Louis) Day, Claudette Ewing, Josephine (Tim)
4Singletary, Mildred Christensen, Debbie Morris, and Belinda
5(Virgil) Daugherty; and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Jacqueline Louise Day;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Jacqueline Day as an expression of
13our sympathy.
