SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert S. Krockey of Shorewood, who
4passed away on March 29, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was born on December 6, 1940 in
6Chicago; his parents were Sol and Miriam Krockey; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was a proud Roosevelt Rough Rider,
8graduating with the Class of June 1958; he earned his Bachelor
9of Arts in Accounting from the University of Illinois in 1962
10and his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1965; he
11subsequently graduated from the DePaul University School of Law
12and became a member of the Illinois Bar in 1966; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Krockey practiced law in Joliet from 1967
14to 2014; he was senior partner of the law firm Krockey,
15Cernugel, Cowgill, and Clark; he also served on numerous bar
16association committees; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was a board member and President of
18the Will County Legal Assistance Program for many years,
19devoting many hours of legal aid for the poor; he served as
20President of the Will County Sheltered Workshop and United
21Cerebral Palsy, where he was recipient of the Mel Larson Award;

1he was also a member of the Joliet Jewish Congregation, serving
2as Vice President at the time of his passing, and a proud
3amateur musician with the Southwest Community Band, the Joliet
4Junior College Band, and the Bicentennial Park Band; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was a devoted University of
6Illinois alumnus and an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs, White Sox,
7Blackhawks, and Bulls fan; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was preceded in death by his
9parents; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Krockey is survived by his wife of 45
11years, Judith (nee Berlinsky) Krockey; son, Brian Krockey and
12his wife, Lisa (nee Carmignani) Krockey; son, Joshua Krockey;
13daughter, Stephanie (nee Krockey) Thompson and her husband,
14John Thompson; grandchildren, Natalie, Isabella, Aaron, and
15Noelle Krockey; and many cousins; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert S. Krockey; and
19be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Robert Krockey as an expression of
