SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Norbert R. Cora of Joliet, who passed 
4away on May 14, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Norbert Cora was born in Joliet on October 2, 1924 
6to Angelo and Appolonia (nee Sartori) Cora; he served in the 
7United States Navy on a LST221 in the South Pacific during 
8World War II; he married Irene Mitrovich in 1946; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Norbert Cora was the co-founder of Dellwood Tire 
10with his brother-in-law, John Mitrovich in 1948; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Norbert Cora converted to the Eastern Orthodox 
12Christian Faith late in life; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Norbert Cora was preceded in death by his wife of 
1467 years, Irene Cora, and by his parents; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Norbert Cora is survived by his daughter, Connie 
16(Judge Gerald) Kinney; sons, Michael (Nancy) and David (Joyce) 
17Cora; grandchildren, Christina (Kevin) Troc, Brian Kinney, 
18Jonathan (Laura), Natalie, Nicholas (Jacquie-fiancee) Cora, 
19Jennifer (fiance Thomas), Nicole (Jeff) Kazen, and Melissa 
20Cora; and great-grandchildren, Autumn, Lorena, Katrina, Shane,

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Norbert R. Cora, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Norbert Cora as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
