SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  John J. Haeflinger of Marengo, who passed 
4away on October 20, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Haeflinger was born on February 16, 1936; his 
6parents were William and Florence (nee Larsen) Haeflinger; he 
7married Dolores Parochelli on November 13, 1955 in Chicago; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, John Haeflinger served his country as a member of 
9the United States Army; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, John Haeflinger was the owner of Winkelman's 
11Radiator for 31 years until his retirement in 1997; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, John Haeflinger had a passion for his horses and 
13loved to be on his motorcycle; he was a longtime member of the 
14Northern Illinois Beagle Club, raising field trial beagles with 
15his longtime friend and former business partner, Irving 
16Schirmer; he also enjoyed spending time in the Florida Keys 
17with his family and friends, watching the Chicago Bears and 
18Cubs, and his dog, Wyatt; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, John Haeflinger was preceded in death by his 
20parents; a sister, Joanne (Bob) Burns; and 2 nephews, Robert

1Burns, Jr. and David Frenzel; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, John Haeflinger is survived by his wife, Dolores; 
3a son, Anthony (Jody) Haeflinger; 2 grandsons, A.J. and Nico 
4Haeflinger; and 3 nephews, Kenneth (Donna) Burns, Tim Burns, 
5and William Frenzel; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of John J. Haeflinger; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of John Haeflinger as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
