3 | | district where the student will attend when in high school and |
4 | | no high school students are enrolled in the course . |
5 | | (b) A school board that adopts a policy pursuant to |
6 | | subsection (a) of this Section must grant academic credit to an |
7 | | elementary school student who successfully completes the high |
8 | | school course, and that credit shall satisfy the requirements |
9 | | of Section 27-22 of this Code for that course. |
10 | | (c) A school board must award high school course credit to |
11 | | a student transferring to its school district for any course |
12 | | that the student successfully completed pursuant to subsection |
13 | | (a) of this Section, unless evidence about the course's rigor |
14 | | and content shows that it does not address the relevant |
15 | | Illinois Learning Standard at the level appropriate for the |
16 | | high school grade during which the course is usually taken, and |
17 | | that credit shall satisfy the requirements of Section 27-22 of |
18 | | this Code for that course. |
19 | | (d) A student's grade in any course successfully completed |
20 | | under this Section must be included in his or her grade point |
21 | | average in accordance with the school board's policy for making |
22 | | that calculation.

24 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
25 | | becoming law.
